Essential oils for Bruises on a budget

While some essential oils can be expensive, there are others which are definitely affordable and can make the healing happen! Below is an effective all natural oil remedy you can easily make at home.

Both Lavender and Rosemary are antiseptics and bacteria killers. Lavender is able to reduce the appearance of bruising, while Rosemary, being an anti flammatory, can ease pain by gently numbing the skin and creating warmth.

Cypress has the ability to stimulate circulation and stop blood from pooling and when applied early can stop the appearance of visible bruising.

Geranium is also able to stimulate circulation but also stimulates the production of new tissue, so it may cause an immediate inflammation at first but combined with cypress which has the ability to remove fluids from tissue, inflammation can be reduced and it can dramatically speed up the healing process.



Oils needed

Base:   Almond Oil or Coconut carrier oil
Essential oils:

  • Rosemary
  • Lavender
  • Geranium
  • Cypress


Choose one carrier oil and mix with one or more of the above essential oils to create a blend which can be massaged to the affected area. Aim for a ratio of 3-5 drops of essential oil to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil.

When it comes to bruising, you want to introduce essential oils to the bruised area as soon as possible to maximise healing and minimise bruising.
